What PRF hair restoration is
PRF stands for platelet-rich fibrin. We draw a small amount of your blood, spin it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, growth factors and healing cells, and then place that concentrate into the areas of the scalp where hair is thinning.
Those growth factors do what they do everywhere in the body: signal repair and renewal. At the scalp, that means improved blood supply to the follicles, stronger existing hairs and stimulation of follicles that have started to slow down. Because it comes from your own body, there are no drugs and no foreign material involved.
Why PRF, and why fibrin
PRF is the next-generation version of the better-known PRP, with a few meaningful advantages.
PRF is processed with no anticoagulants or chemicals, so what goes back in is purely your own concentrated platelets and cells.
The fibrin forms a soft scaffold that releases growth factors gradually over days, rather than all at once, for a longer signal.
PRF captures more white blood cells and stem cells than older PRP methods, which may support a stronger regenerative response.
Who PRF is for
PRF works best as an early intervention for thinning, for both women and men. It is commonly used for:
- Early thinning hairDiffuse thinning where follicles are weakening but still present, the ideal time to intervene.
- Widening part & density lossLoss of fullness along the part and crown, strengthened over a series.
- Female pattern thinningA natural, drug-free option for women who want to avoid medications.
- Early male pattern lossSupport for men in the earlier stages, often alongside other therapies.
- Post-pregnancy & stress sheddingHelp recovering density after a period of heavy shedding.
- Maintenance after transplantSupporting the health of existing and transplanted hair over time.
